The Puccini Double Bill features performances of Suor Angelica and Gianni Schicchi, highlighting Puccini’s soaring, gorgeous, melodies. Suor Angelica follows the story of Sister Angelica, rumored to be in the convent as a punishment. Her world is turned upside down by the arrival of her aunt, whose obsession with the past may destroy Angelica’s future. The second piece, Gianni Schicchi, is Puccini’s only comedy, based on Dante’s Divine Comedy.
